Well its a day off tomorrow from the garden, we're going to a "BROCANTE" thats like a car boot sale in the U.K and i look for the unusual garden items, such as the old tools you dont see in the garden centre anymore.

The french have an idea that anything old /rusty and falling to bits must be worth a lot.

When we first came to france and we we're driving on full english number plates we arrived at one "Brocante" and this french lady saw our car and as i walked into the street we're the stalls had been errected she came running up to me with a chip pan in hand telling me it was an antique and worth lots "it still had the cold fat in the pan"

But having said this you can still get some good tools and plant pot holders for a good price and im hoping to see such items for sale tomorrow,

(we've enough pans to last a life time so i wont be buying any)

I could do with an old bath for the allotment project, these are always handy for washing the veg and such like or i could use a stack of canes again you can never have to many of these.
Well i'll see whats on offer and let you know if i come across anything thats different in the gardening world.

Has anyone had any good finds in such places as car boot sales ect??????????

I must be worth a fortune Punpun!

Like rummaging round boot fairs but never seem to find anything to take my fancy. The other thing is they start so early. Can't understand the reasoning for it.

Hope you have a good day and pick up some bargains.

Good Evening punpun! I am just about to sell my house so have spent all day clearing through the junk in the house, garden and shed. This evening I walked to the shop for milk, and someone had left a long low pine bench outside their house with a sign saying 'Free to goood home'. I thought to myself, 'Oh that would be a nice pot stand. So I picked it up and took it back home. I carried on to the shop, and outside the florist, were 5 Aster plants with a piece of paper saying 'Please take'. I smiled and thought they would look nice in pots on the bench I just found. So popped them into the carrier bag I had originally brought for the milk. THEN...on the way home I walked a different way, and again someone had left a load of stuff outside their house for people to take. I saw one of those large white enamel jugs with a blue trim. So of course, it came home with me. I am supposed to be sorting through things, not bringing more stuff home. Needless to say, Him Indoors is not very happy, but finds it amazingly good luck that I found a bench I wanted to use for plants, then some plants, and then a watering jug to water the plants on the bench all in one night! Hope you find something cool at the Brocante. Happy Gardening.

Just tell him those potted asters will add some great kerb appeal during the Autumn while you're trying to sell!
