Ive had visitors in the tool shed last night after i left a bowl of marigold seed's on the work bench, the tell tale signs we're all there for all to see ie droppings and seed all over the bench,

I dont like using anything thats going to cause pain or may not kill in an instant so poison and traps are out in my way of doing things But i was shown by an old garden friend who was part of our allotment gang when i had the allotment,

It's simple, cost next to nothing and works!

    It's white pepper,

just sprinkle it around the corners and the area you think the mice are getting in and this will do the trick, the mice hate the smell of the white pepper and pepper can be brushed into the gaps of the floor and wall area of the shed we're you'll not really see it or smell it but the smell is enough to act as a no go area for mice for a long time,
and as i say it cost are very modest and so can be used time and time agian.

Get a cat and blame him, or a lion.

    Hi gardda,
We'd love a cat and even our two dogs are both very cat friendly but one huge thing stops us having a cat and it's the hunting in this area by stupid french hunters armed to the teeth with guns and cats are not protected from being shot.

We live deep in the countryside but come october the shooting season starts and anything that moves has a good chance of being shot.

Ive heard animals screaming long after the hunters have gone and as we have a wooded area to the rear of us the wounded animals hide in these woods full of shot.

Ive spent many hours trying to find these animals but when they know humans are about they keep quiet.
So we would'nt have a cat for this reason.

The mice in our garden shed take cherries into my husband`s wellies to eat them.
He always has to tip the cherry stones out before putting his wellies on. smiley - smiley
