    Hi,
I did my normal coffee in hand garden inspection this morning and noticed my "Lupins" are flowering again for the second time this year.

If you want your's to give a second flowering what you do is when the first show of flowers have gone and your left with the spikes!

cut them off and you'll get a second bloom later in the same season.

I find "Lupins" remind me of my gran, and they really are a smashing early flower in the garden but they dont last very long and so if you do what ive said ref early prune!

You'll get a well earned second showing and with the likes of dahlias flowering at the same time as your second Lupins they really do give a nice show.

The same thing goes for the lily family ref nipping the dead heads off.

If you nip the dead head off it gives the plant a better flower next year as the chemicle reaction from this dead heading helps the plants bulbs grow and store more food.

I'm getting a second lot of delphinium flowers too. I've never grown them before but we have a bigger garden and so I've been able to widen my variety of plants. The garden we have now has a a few different clematis varieties and last year (our first summer here) I got a second blooming on some of these too. Not quite as prolific as the first but very welcome.
