Our patio pavers seem to be covered with black spot lichen. I have used a wire bush with bleach but this is such a long process. The power washer was no help at all. I am really stugglingly with it. We have a lot of pavers and block paving. We inherited them when we bought the house! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I quite like it myself, I understand that lichen is an important plant for the environment, that takes many years to appear. It can give a lovely aged effect to sone.
Though thats not really what you wanted to hear. Not sure how to get rid of it.
Just get a more powerful pressure washer and get it closer to the slabs. A decent pressure washer will take the top layer of concrete off.
Once it is clean, dry and re-pointed then seal with water seal. Give it a couple of coats.
We use a 135 bar power washer but that does not seem to do the job. I thought there may have been an easier solution to this.
