Can anyone give me advice on growing Physalis Chancetti / chinese lanterns? Are they best in pots? I am growing from seed. x
I had a clump of chinese lanterns growing in my previous garden. They grow in sun or partial shade, in ordinary soil, and if they are in a spot they like they grow like weeds.
I used to be a bit heavy-handed clearing them out after autumn, but they always came again next spring.
I never grew any from seed, so I can`t comment on that aspect. Perhaps some one else can help.
THANX FOR YOUR ADVICE X
What a surprise!
Anne-Marie did you manage to grow them from seed. I remember this message but didn't reply cause like As-Iff I too have previously had them in my garden, they grew like a weed but this year tried to grow them from seed and none germinated. Hope you had better success.
many thanx 4 the advice, decided 2 go with pots 4 now. Thanx again!
