I intend replacing my fencing with natural screening. I favour bamboo but my wife prefers Willow. Which of the two is the heardest wearing?
If you live on wettish clayish soil a living willow fence will last you a life time.
Or do you mean woven mats of dead willow or bamboo? Both will last decent couple of years, I would guess 10 years max.
We have bamboo as a hedge in our garden, not by choice. The stuff is at least 20ft high and is spreading far and wide. I hate the stuff. Once planted it's a devil to control or get rid off (I would say impossible). Don't know much about gardening at all but ..... out of the two choices I'd go for willow.
