Since it's too cold in my neck of the woods to be out gardening, I decided to try making the Sarah Raven apple cake as featured in Gardeners World magazine. Excellent! I left out the cinnamon and substituted hazelnuts for cashews. Even our cat tried and enjoyed it! Maybe I should post this message on the cookery boards as well!
Hello, This afternoon I made a Pineapple upside-down cake- going to have a piece with some custard while I watch the ice-dancing! I would like Gaynor to win but Bonnie is brilliant
.. Has everybody been baking today...Unfortunately, or not, I've been at work, tomorrow also! Maybe somebody could send my a portion down the broadband line
As for the ice-dancing, I have exactly the same thoughts as you Lilylouise although I don't think I'll look at it the same after Margi's rendition of Bolero last night! She was brilliant!!!! Does anybody know what time it starts?

Yum. I've been out in the garden again today, but it was bitterly cold. Still shifting and clearing so not real 'gardening' but I kept warm; humpin' an' dumpin' and had to wear a silly woolly hat. I made a lovely apple cake from recipe from T2 a few weeks ago. Baking is nearly as satisfying as gardening I think. Some people are easily satisfied huh? ... simple pleasures! Wish I had done some baking this afternoon now, I'd love a piece of apple cake or upside pineapple cake with a mug of hot chocolate right now. I've worked so hard, I do deserve some.
Susie... it's cake!

Hello, It starts at 6.50 - would you like a piece of my pineapple upside down cake? You are welcome to - have to make your own custard, though!

Bye all!!!!! Think I know where we all going now
Tomorrow I'm going to try Chocolate Nemesis from River Cafe (are we allowed to name places like that here?) A friend introduced me to this a while ago, will most certainly need to get digging to burn of those extra calories, even though I'm planning to halve the recipe ( 5 eggs instead of 10!)
Marcia.....it's cake!Ìý
It tastes so-oh good, oo I wish .. but where's the hot chocolate in my special mug?
Susie - I have looked in 3 garden centres here and no one has Lavendula augustifolia 'Little Lottie' What am I to do...

I will send her some apple crumble tomorrow with cinamon in and home made custard too Hope this will cheer her up (cake) (travel mug of custard) with lid on so it won't spill so she will know what to look out for tomorrow about 1 pm

Try one of these:
- they won't necessarily all have it in stock but hopefully at least one of them will!
