Hello, When I walk round my garden I see plants that bring back memories - plants given as presents, my corylus contorta was given to me as a Mother's Day present by my eldest son when he was about 14 years old -he is 41 now!His interest in plants lead him to getting his degree in Horticulture.I have a beautiful Magnolia stellata,a Fothergilla minor and a Chimonanthes which came from an Aunt's garden after she died. The gorgeous red Camellia and golden rose that came from Mum and Dad's garden when they moved into a flat without a garden - I could go on and on...
Hi LilyLouise,
how are you?
So nice having this garden full of cherished memories! It's like pictures you look at and you recall that moment. Must be great!
Take care.
Hi LilyLouise,
I looked at your pictures again today (on Obelixx's gallery). I can really imagine you wandering around your very beautiful garden full of beautiful spots and secret place...
Hi lilylouise hope you like this....
the little things that happen, are locked into our minds......
they call again to greet us, or most of them you'll find...
through many little doorways of which we hold the keys.
they creep into our thinking we call them memories....
may the key you hold to your garden and the memories you have made....
shine on brightly down the years and never ever fade....
What a lovely verse Mz S. Did you get it from somewhere or make it up yourself ?
Speaking of verses, does anybody know 'The Glory of the Garden' by Rudyard Kipling? A bit sexist I think but a wonderful poem and tribute to us gardeners!
I read it once in a childs book of verse it was a lot longer though and I shortned it to fit in with whatever occasion say wedding birthday etc
example:
may the key to your wedding day and the memories you have made shine on brightly down the years etc.
if you know what I mean I just think its a nice little verse. Glad you like it to F.A
