LL tells me that you have some creative ways of recycling empty wine bottles?! i.e. border edges, garden furniture etc! Do tell
Susie x
Once you've emptied enough of them ... ideas for propper use pop up everywhere ... and they all appear to look great too,
Now where's me corckscrew hazel....
He he he! But I've just deleted my picture off the computer! I'll find it again.....

See susie - it's like shiny log roll!

You need to find lots of excuses for parties! No canned drinks allowed - wine only!
If you like something more along an Irish theme you could use empty guiness bottles to achieve a completely different style,
And for young families with little children - empty milk bottles.
And in hospital gardens ... urine bottles.....

It's my birthday in May (44 and I'm having a face painting party! All of the guests will be paired off and given an envelope with a 'theme' inside of it and a box of face paints! When everybody's 'made up', they have to guess the theme of the other couples!! How mad's that! Any suggestions of 'themes' would be appreciated! Perhaps you would all like to come

I think I should point out that there will be NO children at the party! Broadens the horizons of themes don't you think!
Bet it starts as horizons and ends as horizontal!
Drink lots!! Sounds like fun!

Oh, all right then!
Hi Susie Snowdrop - I have a bottle wall along one and a bit sides of my terrace/patio. It is very practical and was fun and easy to do.
We had a man with a bulldozer come and scoop out the base for the terrace foundations and I asked him to extend it enough for my wall. He fell about laughing when I told him what I was planning but has been back since on other jobs, minus bulldozer, and had to admit it wasn't such a "blonde" idea after all. It's been there about 8 yrs now and survives deep freezes every winter.
OK I give in. tried using photobucket to show a photo and it says I'm already registered but doesn't recognise my user name. What's a girl to do?
Please will some kind soul point me at an idiot proof means of posting photos - bearing in mind it's a) late and b) the weekend and c) I'm having a serious blonde moment!
Obby! I have every sympathy and empaphise with you. I rely on a quite dated, very simple, but perfectly functional I.T. solution to post my photos........however, she's just gone to bed!
I await flak....
Maybe you could ask her very nicely to help me out tomorrow if she has time - unless someone else leaps in first.
Very happy to ask! She was after all immensely impressed (I'm still in awe and appreciation) you took the time to answer our specific Allium query on the Chelsea coverage last year.... However, assuming she can help it won't be before late Saturday afternoon though.
Try using Yahoo Obelixx - you just drag the photos to save them when having both the Yahoo Photo thingy window open, and your photographs window open. If I can do it anyone can do it! Then when you've got the album ready - you click on the link at the top and paste it into your message. Simple! (I hope!)
Thanks. I'll have a go at that but it'll be a day or two now. Have to start gettin ready for a dinner and sleepover tonight plus a gala buffet dance tomorrow which means painting nails etc...
I've also sent a message to photobucket asking for help. It won't let me register because it thinks I already have. Weird.
Hi Susie-S,
The bottle wall can be seen in the June album of my garden photos. It was easy to build, requires only an occasional hose down, has been in place 8 yrs or so and survived deep freeze, flood and the heat of summer.
