Dame Wombat's splendid idea, following on from the Christmas Consequences. Not that I can think of any suitable (or not) gifts for anyone at the moment!
For William...... A new Server!

THank you so much for the parsnip Plocket - I shall use it to make my extremely good curry parsnip soup. The dyed heather will make a great centre-piece for my garden display. Er... did you keep the receipt for the B&Q vouchers?

Me too - though I have started my cards - but I've just discovered that last posting date for 2nd class is Saturday - I was expecting it to be Monday or Tuesday - usually get my cards done much earlier - - and the spare bed we were expecting to arrive in mid-January is arriving tomorrow - don't know where we're going to put it as study is still full of desk, 2 computers, and various boxes of files!

Plocket
I had a thought as I was drifting off to sleep last night (yes this does occasionally happen). Are we missing the Secret bit of Secret Santa? Perhaps we should think up a present and then make everyone guess who it is for? Dame Wombat this was your idea what do you think?
Rhoda (oh and sorry about the singing on the other thread, I had a bit too much vino)

Sorry Obelixx - I've got Christmas wrapped up this year, well except for the wrapping that is! Actually it's a busy week this week what with LP's nativity (two performances), the big school concert and three parties on Friday (all LP's of course!). I've got mum coming round for breakfast tomorrow, and MIL staying at the weekend plus. AND I've got OH off work tomorrow - but I'm sending him out to do his Christmas shopping for part of the day at least.
Naughty Boys Patchwork kit! for........
(Is this how it's meant to work?)
Ok. I've got a little gift here for Obelixx - approximately 4 inches x 4 inches x 2 inches, and beautifully wrapped! Any guesses?

Hi Rhoda. You are quite right, we aren't being very secret about this - but I think I said it would be shambolic when I first suggested it.
Since then I've been away from my PC, so delighted to get back to my desk and discover everyone is getting gifts!
Anyway, let's try to be more a bit more furtive about this Secret Santa stuff.
My gift is:
A set of those tiny little garden gnomes that you clip onto hanging baskets.
Guess who it is for?!

What a short memory you have Dame Wombat - "underground mutton" was what the people on Portland Bill (or somewhere round there) call rabbits. They never mention the word rabbit because it is seen as bad luck because they can cause problems with their burrows undermining the quarries etc. It came up when you were off to see Wallace and Gromit because the film posters had to be changed there to take the word rabbit out.
Anyway the pressie was yours and now the suprise has been ruined
Doh!

Thanks Rhoda! That's a lovely surprise - I'd love to have a rabbit! Did you have any trouble gift-wrapping it?

I hope you aren't suggesting that for me Dan! I don't want to be in prison over Christmas!!!!!
Mind you, if it was just a cardboard cutout I could use it as a dart board. Or I could start a new hobby and use it for practice: knife throwing, ice sculpting..... This has potential!!!
I still want to know who's getting the delightful mini garden gnomes from Dame Wombat!!!
For William...... A new Server!Ìý

Could we change the gender of this Server maybe a new servant girl????
If that is your wish William......Oohhh should I have made it bigger too?

Hi Plocket! I was thinking of Heldi, as I know she is a big fan of garden ornaments - the more vulgar the better! I can get another set though, if you'd like some too. They are quite cute.
Okay, next gift: A CB Action Man doll, complete with scythe and chopper.
Guess who?
Yourself?

Yourself?Ìý
No. I've already got one of my own.
I do have a real Christmas present for you Obelixx - I have finally finished watching all the GGC tapes, and will put them in the post for you in the next couple of days. So you'll have something to watch during the hibernating months.

Me!!! Please let it be me!!!!! But I'll pass on the Gnome Garden ornaments thanks. I have lots of garden ornaments but draw the line at gnomes. Besides my Grots would probably eat them!!!
I have a special Christmas Card I want to share with someone - has anyone see the Merrill Lynch card this year? If you have, you'll probably be able to guess who it's for!
I don't remember seeing grots lurking in your garden photos Plocket!!
Dame W - Thank you. They will be appreciated. I'm up for some serious hibernation. I don't know quite how but life is frantic again so for Xmas, OH and I have decided to lock the doors, close the shutters, switch on the ansaphone and give the PC a holiday and just "be" with Possum for a few days.
Have just spotted the UK last posting date - that means all our cards are going to be late this year. Oops! Must find an hour or two to send some on Saturday or Sunday or..........
