On the way over to my old allotment this morning, in my van, to lift and shift some trees for my new home, I overtook a car transporter carrying new Ford cars, including four Motorway police cars with their blue and yellow chequered livery, all facing backwards, towards me. As soon as my eyes fell on this possee of police cars I instinctively slammed my foot on the brakes, and I wasn't even speeding (fat chance in my van), and it took a few minutes for my heartbeat to return to normal. and I haven't been done for speeding for six years or more. Felt a right Wally!
You must have a guilty conscience lurking somewhere!
I'll ask my youngest - she's studying psychology and will no doubt have a very long name for the condition known as 'reacting-as-if-you've-done-something-wrong-even-when-you-haven't'.
Hi Goldilocks, I react in the same way when I see aanyone in a fluorescent jacket!
