Brown Tips of Leaves of House Plant

  Hi,
  
  Can anyone tell me what is causing the leaves to go brown on this plant.
  
  
  
  If you look close you will see that the tips turn brown and curl and then starts to travel back along the leaf. There are now several where the front half of the leaf is total brown and withered. It is watered regularily and fed occaisionaly with Baby Bio. Also I don't know the name of the plant so would appreciated any advice.

  I have one of those as well but don't know -or can't remember-what it is called-if you have it in a window then it is sun burning the leaves
  
  Nothing much to worry about just cut off the dead leaf -from the picture it is on just one side -the side nearest the window?

  That looks like a Cordyline terminalis Rededge.
  
  The Cordylines come from the tropical and temperate zones of South America, Australasia and Polynesia; they are not difficult to grow but do require some protection from the cold.
  
  Position: Plenty of light, even direct sunlight, provided that it is not at its full strength in the summer. Brightly-coloured Cordylines will revert to green if kept away from good light.
  
  Temperature: Try to keep the temperature above 65°F (18°C) in winter; otherwise normal room temperatures are fine.
  
  Water: Water well in summer, but do not allow the pot to stand in water; reduce watering in winter to keep soil just moist; never allow the soil to dry out. Humidity is important, especially in hot, dry conditions; supply this by aerial-spraying (but not in direct sunlight), and by placing the pot on a base of wet gravel.
  
  Feeding: Feed mature plants every three months.

  Hi,
  Brown tips at the end of leaves usually means the atmosphere around the plant is too dry. Maybe central heating has dried the air. Spray the plant with a very fine mister, or keep a bowl of water near it.
  Don`t increase water at the root though, it`s not there where the extra is needed.
