Hi reposting here as may be better than garden clinic...
We have an allotment with few smallish fruit trees in one corner, and rather than waste the ground underneath them I want to plant something that will use the space & spread around the trunks...was thinking squash/courgettes. Will be slightly shady but no big canopies so the sun should reach through a bit. Many thanks for any advice!
Your quite right but I have given my opinion on your question in the 'clinic'
Perhaps any others replying might add their comments to this thread rather than the one in the clinic.
Hi Tee Gee
Thanks for your reply in Garden Clinic, one apple, one cherry, one plum...as I said all are small (6ft max) and about 2m apart. There are are already raspberries growing in a row alongside which seemed ok this year. No pic available at moment, sorry.
This was my fruit bed last April;
Then in May from opposite direction;
