I have a Dornfeld grape that is growing very well but the grapes it produces are more like big peas than grapes. It is only 1.5 years old so maybe it is down to that. It has three bunches of grapes on it that I am aware of (2 m high tesal has been blocking access to if for most of the summer.) but the grapes are rather small. Any other reason for them not being that big. It looks healthy and the main trunk is a couple of meters long now and the sides about 3 meters.

It is still very young. It is usually about 3 years before they start to produce a good crop. You do not say where you are situated, and I assume that you are growing the vine outside. If the vine has been short of water, and the roots will not be fully developed, the grapes will stay small. Also, if the vine flowered late, they will be small.

Ah the old I didn't tell you where I am that GQT always reminds us about. Im in Bristol and the garden is walled on three sides and the vine is outdoors. Have survived two harsh winters so I think it will live for some time. Not sure if they flowered late and as for water, this has been a summer for building arks!

I shall bide my time and hope for bigger grapes in years to come!
