Well, finally got around to it - my brother and I are the new proud tenants of neighbouring allotments. Both in our late thirties and there we were, rummaging around like a couple of schoolskids - ridiculous really...
Actually, when I say 'allotments' I really mean small patches of wilderness! Never mind though - should be fun (!?!) getting everything ship-shape (!!??!!).
Some good advice on the board here so I reckon I'll be back a few times - wish me luck, I'm going to need it!
Congratulations on acquiring allotments. The best advice I can give is to do it a bit at a time otherwise it can become quite daunting. I have had mine for a couple of years now and I still havent got all of it into cultivation yet but I do a bit more each time I am there. Dig a small bit over and get something planted and then you have something growing while you are working on another area. This is a good time of year to plant garlic.
Congratulations Captain, and good luck! Keep us posted with your progress and enjoy your lottie!
hi thanks for the advice. I have started digging the bit that was already partially turned over and hope to get back at the weekend. good luck with your allotment, let me know how you get on, you seem to know loads already. Have fun!!
