    Yes Village, always do young carrot tops in stews, and probably very soup-able. Cook on tv the other day was using radish and beetroot tops to make a salad. Brilliant article here...

    Young as in spring and early summer.Would be tough by now.Can't find any references that home grown carrot foliage is poisonous, tho if you have doubts best not to eat.Commercial crops would have been treated, but even then the supermarkets would not be allowed to sell carrots complete with foliage if there is any risk. See Nickys Seeds for Edible Carrot foliage.Apparently celery is tops for residual pesticide.I have a thing about advertised images of someone eating, say, an apple, straight from a display. All fruit should be peeled and quartered, and if you find a live maggot, marvellous, tis a sign of goodness.
