At the start of this year I watched Carol's Cottage Garden and I can only say that it changed everything in my small garden. I love the way Carol is so enthusiastic about her garden and even my biker boyfriend comes in to watch whenever he hears her voice on the tv.

Carol has changed the way I garden and I can't wait for next year to see my collected seed flourish. I had never planted seeds till this year when I grew so much, my biggest triumph being my Pumpkin, sunflowers and my Bishop of Landau dahlias.

I would love for Carol to know how she has inspired me and I continue to watch GW. I can only hope that there's another series of Cottage Garden next year.

Ah yes, the Bishop of Landau dahlias named after the patron saint of horse drawn carriages

But you're quite right, she is an inspiration (and at times an irritation) to many people. But you can't fault her enthusiasm, and the more newcomers she encourages to garden, the better our society will be. I've yet to meet a horrid gardener.

You're right ParsnipPumkin, her enthusiam is so infectious. I love the way she can't even talk about gardeing and plants without almost giggling! I have her 'Grow Your Own Garden' book, which has been a great inspriation for a novice gardner such as myself. I've had some success with growing from seed this year, and am going to try the cuttings process again (failed with lavender first time round and it put me off trying anything else). I may even treat myself to her 'Cottage Garden' book now. Thanks for reminding me! Yvie

You should definately treat yourself Yvie, to Cottage garden and possibly grow your own veg too. I went a bit crazy and got all three books. Keep on with the seed over winter or just grow some onions. I'm growing garlic too.

I quite agree, Carol's Cottage Garden was so good I still have it on our recorder. However, I am quite concerned that our local paper down here in Devon printed some weeks ago, that Carol's lease was not being renewed for her Garden, I have tried, but cannot find out any more news - does anyone else know what is happening?

I agree, PP. Carol is probably the most inspirational & knowledgeable TV presenter ever.

Following the series 'Carol's Cottage Garden', she did respond to comments on her blog.

This blog is still open, so perhaps she will read any comments you may wish to make

    Good luck!

It's not her garden, it's her Nursery next door. She has had to close it because the new owner of the property ( from whom she rented the land) did not renew the lease. She is now revamping her garden to incorporate the plants and features from the Nursery.

This week I was thinking how wonderful it would be if CK's programme were repeated now - the timing would be perfect and it would give me some much needed encouragement to get out there and do some work. Everything looks so daunting at the moment.

I absolutely loved the programme and saved every episode - but my digibox died and boy do I miss not being able to see them now!

    Hello.
Yes I saved all the episodes too but never got the first programme as I never saw any advertisements for it. It was brilliant and Carol has been much missed over the winter..
