Rarely in London in August, it was my first opportunity of watching this special programme.
I found it terribly exciting, and being one of those people who have such small gardens they cannot grow vegetables (I did grow them when I had an acre and a quarter garden to play around in) I find great pleasure in finding the right place for the right plant as Beth Chatto puts it so well. I do not always get it right straight away but the pleasures of the garden are great. I am quite patient when it comes to waiting for a plant to flower (fifteen years for a tree peony planted from seed)..... the result is always such a good reward.
In tonight's programme I particularly liked what I saw about John Sales, Beth Chatto, Joy Larkom and Roy Lancaster. Thank you so much for bringing them to my home.

Here was me thinking I was alone is missing out on a little gem. Maybe someone will enlighten us in due course on just what this programme was called, and who was fronting it.

    Hi both Kens

It was a slightly shorter version of the hour long summer special "Britain's Gardening Heroes" fronted by the GORGEOUS Monty Don (this is to wind Malibu up!) A brilliant programme - perhaps you saw it first time round, shame if you didn't.

    Who were the heroes..?
    What was Monty wearing?
    Were there any guests?
    Who was 2nd presenter?
Monty is wasted , he should be fronting an arts programme or Face to Face thingy.

Hi everybody, here is a message from Holland.
As a gardening fan, I try to follow as much of Gardener's World programs as possible. However, I have to say that, due to holidays, I missed the "original" episode from August aswell.
Happy as I was to at least being able to watch Fridaynight's Special, I wonder: does this episode of "Heroes" appear on any Â鶹Éç DVD ?
I would really like to keep it, as it featured indeed the heroes that have influenced me ....
Or can anybody help who has already recorded the August-show (or the one of Fridaynight) ?
    Thanks ahead !
