Has anyone noticed that some of the programmes on the channel have now had additional voiceovers on them? I forst noticed it on 'Garden Rivals' Then 'Homefront in the Garden' and now 'The Garden with Dan Pearson'.

Quite frankly i consider these unnesesary (Many already have their own voice overs explaining whats going on), and in some places i find the content irritating anfd patronising. Could someone (from the channel perhaps?) explain what the purpose is of it. Also does anyone know who it is doing the se voice overs. It sounds to me like Simon Harrison-Knibbs from 'Gardens Unplugged', but i could be wrong.

Frankly i spoils thes programmes its been added to. What next? Ground Force?!

Can't get it Richard, but see there is a message board on the web site.
Packed up Sky because of the constant adverts, but still have the dish and box and notice recently lots of changes.
I now get ITV2 and Men and Motors and True Movies, all for free, plus all the usual.
Do you think it possible to record programmes at (say) work and play them at home on a DVD, and in the absence of a TV ,be excused paying a licence fee?

No! You are still receiving broadcasts whether you are actualy veiwing or not. Now you might have a case if you disconected the aerial and just watched videos and DVDs, (though i doubt youd 'win' there either)

I take this back. On investigation it now seems that these so called 'new voiceovers' are in fact a previously unknown and unknowingly activated feature of Sky Digital tv.

Its called a 'narrative' ands is designed to help blind and visualy impaired people enjoy certain programmes. It appears that we recently activated it by accident. It is now turned off and back to normal.
