We recognise that in order to achieve a diverse workforce we need to create a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.
There are a number of 麻豆社 initiatives to support our aspirations. Examples include Extend, our paid work placement scheme for talented disabled people and our Extend in News Journalism Trainee Scheme.
The 麻豆社 also takes an active role in a number of the national programmes run across the private and public sectors designed to promote diversity by bringing organisations together to share good practice and to evaluate progress. The 麻豆社 is a member of the (CDN) which also run an annual mentoring scheme. We participate in the , and we also support .
Attraction and Recruitment
We want to be the employer of choice for people with creative ideas. We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the 麻豆社 – whether that’s to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles.

Disabled Staff
The 麻豆社 is committed to being inclusive and accessible to disabled people. Disabled people are a diverse group with differing requirements, some of which aren’t always apparent.
Accessibility for our staff will ensure that we attract and retain the most talented people to contribute to the creativity of the 麻豆社. For our disabled audiences, accessibility can be central to receiving a quality service and therefore it is essential that all our services take this into account.

Disability Passport
The 麻豆社 has developed The Disability Passport for our staff as a way to improve relationships within teams and build on the way our staff request reasonable adjustments.
We've developed the passport to give staff and managers clarity and continuity on existing adjustments and it also helps our Team Leaders to understand and support those adjustments.
It's a voluntary process and can be used by staff to record the impact of any visible or non-visible health conditions and any agreed reasonable adjustments.
The passport will follow staff members as they change job, move office or have a change of team leader. Our staff can also take the passport with them if they leave the 麻豆社.
Training and Development
Everyone at the 麻豆社 has a role in promoting diversity on and off screen and air. Our online course Diversity out of the Box has been developed for all staff members. It's designed to raise awareness about diversity, why it matters to our programming and our work environment and what steps individuals can take to make a difference.
All managers also undertake Unconscious Bias training which provides an understanding of the nature of unconscious bias and how it impacts on attitudes, behaviours and decision-making processes.
