Complaint
A viewer complained that Fiona Bruce showed political bias by interrupting the Green MP Caroline Lucas during a discussion about climate change. The ECU considered whether the programme met 麻豆社 standards for due impartiality.
Outcome
The exchanges took place during the last few minutes of the programme. The final question related to Cop27 which was underway in Egypt at the time of broadcast. Caroline Lucas as an acknowledged advocate on this issue had the chance to offer a lengthy reply, largely uninterrupted, before the debate shifted to the behaviour of climate change activists. At this point it became clear the programme was running out of time and in the ECU鈥檚 view Fiona Bruce was therefore entitled to bring in other members of the panel who had not had the opportunity to speak on the subject.
