Complaint
These bulletins included brief reports that the Scottish Government was expected to abandon its target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030.聽 A listener complained that, by omitting any reference to the failings of the other nations of the UK in this area, the reports displayed negativity towards Scotland.聽 The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 麻豆社鈥檚 editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
While comparison with other parts of the UK might have been relevant in an item which considered the issue in depth, the ECU saw no lack of impartiality in omitting it from brief reports in which the focus was on an expected change of policy by the Scottish government.聽
