Complaint
The programme included a contribution from Jim Murphy.聽 A viewer complained that the programme鈥檚 failure to identify him as CEO of Arden Strategies, a political PR consultancy which had done work for the Labour Party, introduced an element of bias.聽 The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 麻豆社鈥檚 editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
As Mr Murphy was introduced as 鈥former Secretary of State for Scotland, former leader of the Scottish Labour Party鈥, the ECU saw no danger of viewers being unaware that he had been invited onto the programme to represent a Labour viewpoint, and no element of bias in the context of a programme where supporters of a range of party viewpoints were invited to comment.
