Complaint
The Rt Hon Priti Patel MP, a member of the panel in this edition of the programme, complained of the statement in the presenter鈥檚 introduction that she had resigned from the Cabined 鈥渁fter it emerged that she had breached the Ministerial Code over meetings with the Israeli Government鈥: this was inaccurate because she had not been found in breach of the Code.
Outcome
The judgement on whether the Code has been breached rests with the Prime Minister, having received advice from the Independent Advisor on Ministerial Interests.聽 As no such advice had been sought in Ms Patel鈥檚 case, the presenter鈥檚 statement was inaccurate irrespective of whether Ms Patel鈥檚 actions could have constituted a breach of the Code.聽 However, the broadcast of a correction in the next day鈥檚 edition of Any Answers sufficed to resolve the issue of complaint.
