New groups have been set up for , putting amateur and professional growers in touch with people with an appetite for fresh, local produce.
The schemes, believed to be the first, use social media website allowing growers and buyers to post messages about who has an abundance of fresh local produce and who is ready to buy it.
Jane Clough from , Loggerheads, near Mold, set up one group - "" - as a way to put people in touch as she is always on the look out for fresh local produce for her menu.
Meanwhile, another group, unites home and allotment veg growers from around Mold and elsewhere in north east Wales.
Jane said: "We actively seek local food producers with a glut of fruit and vegetables they have grown.
"Last week someone brought in four crates of freshly-picked mushrooms and almost everything on the menu the next day contained mushrooms!"

The pits may have long since closed but the importance of the song or The Miners' Hymn as it has become known, continues to resonate.
A new book, has brought emotions back to the surface, explaining how the famous brass band composition - written to mark the mining tragedy which claimed the lives of 266 men in Wrexham in 1934 - "has become a requiem for mining communities and their way of life".

The film The Miners' Hymns at this year's Durham Festival is causing a stir in the mining community. Controversially, the film leaves out perhaps the most important miners' hymn - Gresford. Reporter Nicola Stanbridge remembers the miners who lost their lives in the Gresford mining disaster 76 years ago and the hymn written to commemorate.

Organised by the , the awards have been described as the "Oscars of the food world" and celebrate the diverse range of quality food and drink produced across the UK.

An interesting report on the results of Flintshire council's is being discussed today by councillors as part of plans to make further changes to household rubbish collections across the county.
Or as the suggests, .
you can see that since April, 24,000 properties across Flintshire began separating food waste from their black bin bag collections in a pilot project - diverting 350 tonnes of biodegradable waste from landfill in three months.
The stats show an average collection of 35 tonnes per week which equates to an average of 2.58kg per participating households.
