Dig starts in murder probe - Police investigating the disappearance of Tati Rodgers some 16 months ago are to start digging up land on the outskirts of Wrexham.
Rhyl Prom wins top award - A scheme which transformed seven acres of Rhyl's seafront lands a national award in London.
Arson suspected at nursing home - Investigators say a fire which led to the evacuation of 37 residents at a nursing home in Wrexham was started deliberately.


Rants and Raves
Roadworks drive you potty - Judged Red writes: "Our first bank holiday of the year is nearly upon us so our tourist traffic will come pouring down this new route [A550 at Deeside] with eyes full of wonder at how well the North Walians have done in creating this new route - until they hit the four lane into two bottleneck that is Aston Hill."
Countryside rant - John: "Away from the Clywdian range there are so many obstacles to deter walkers. Footpath signs taken down, rotting and dangerous gates wrapped in barbed wire, paths blocked..."

Town Talk
Wrexham worries - Andrea: "Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING will save this town unless at least 20 brand new stores relocate here to provide a new stimulus."
Buckley landfill plans - Jack: "What's up with landfill? We dug these big holes, we can't just leave them! Kill two birds with one stone!"
More supermarkets - John: "A new supermarket is just what Cefn Mawr needs. I am looking forward to a more varied local choice."

History today
WWII Rhyl bombings - Mike: "Two bombs were dropped, one demolished a house in Clwyd Ave, the other left a crater in the playing field at Glyndwr school. I reckon the bombers were returning from a raid over Liverpool and saw the railway sidings."
The day the house blew up - Christine is trying to piece together a family legend suggesting a house on Wynnstay estate, Wrexham, was used as an explosives store - and blew up.
