Further to your views on congestion problems and blogs about giving up the car, your ideas are being sought to help create sustainable travel in Mold which, in turn, could be rolled out across the region.

In Mold, sustainable travel fits in with the town's project - [Cittaslow is a network of towns where it is said to be good to live].

And the group of local individuals and organisations [like ] behind that bid have come up with a travel 'wish list' to give in a report to - the public transport group of the six county authorities in North Wales - by mid-June. [Read Taith's , PDF document]

TAITH will take the whole thing forward because the Welsh Assembly Government are planning to run a sustainable travel pilot project in Wales with one town selected from each of the four regions. In North Wales, Mold and Bangor have expressed an interest to take the lead.

Here's the wish-list for Mold:

Walking
Improve walking routes to/around town centre
Resurfacing
Signage
Increase pedestrianisation

Create slow lanes

Cycling

Consider the use of some suitable footpaths for cycle use

Over to you
Andrea Mearns, representing Mold's bid, says: "We want people in Mold and the surrounding areas to take photos, consult with their neighbours and friends, and come forward with their ideas for sustainable travel options. There may be only one or two aspects they are interested - that's fine. We welcome constructive ideas, solutions and detailed information."
