Flintshire Council wants to hear what you think of it plans to close the county Reference and Information Centre at County Hall and move it to Mold Library due to its central location, longer opening hours - and because of declining numbers of visitors to the reference centre. Find out more via .

Personally, I think this is a good idea because the reference centre, including the fantastic local history section, is a fascinating resource and well worth a visit - probably on a wet weekend unless you're retired or researching family history - and bringing it into town will make it more accessible.

If you do ever visit the reference library, check out the old audio cassettes which are interviews of local people sharing memories and experiences - some up to 100 years ago. I hear staff there are considering digitising the audio to make it more accessible to the public.
