Half term weather update

Post categories:

I hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed that traumatic game ofÌýrugby on Saturday!

Unfortunately, there was a little rain in north west Wales on Sunday, which wasn't forecast.

Despite trying, it's impossible to be right all ofÌýthe time when it comes to predicting the weather, but we have got better over the years.

Our three day forecast for instanceÌýis muchÌýmore accurate thanÌýthe one day forecast we used to offer backÌýin 1980.

.

It's half term forÌýschools this week and the weather is on the change...

A cold area of low pressure near Iceland is going to move south across Britain and Ireland bringing some rain and wintry showers. There will also be some snow in places.

However, there's no need to rush outÌýto the supermarketÌýand stock up on bread and milk!

I am not expecting a repeat of the conditions we had back in January when there was widespread disruption.

Most of the snow will be on the higher ground with some significant falls possible on some hills and mountains later in the week.

Some frost and icy patches are likely too but in between the wintry showers there is the prospect of seeing at least some sunshine, so theÌýkids shouldn't have to stay indoors all week!

Derek
