Waiting for the kiss

The risk is that the Hillary Barack meeting is simply too farcical for primetime as wittily suggests. There is something about .

We are all going (I am staying at the Back Side Inn, which I hope is not named symbolically) to see history made but important as this day is it is about faux history, ersatz history, not the kind that comes from the gut and stands the test of time.

Meanwhile where is Bill? Physically the answer is well-known - he is in London for the Mandela birthday celebrations - but mentally, intellectually, psychologically?

I shall report from Unity just as soon as I see them kiss...

A postscript from the closed-door meeting for fundraisers and the two candidates in DC on Thursday night: a contact of mine tells me that the irrepressible Terry McAuliffe (Hillary Clinton's campaign chair) introduced her thus: "And now ladies and gentlemen, the next ............. Speaker!"

There was much laughter and reduction of tension. My contact (a Hillary fundraiser) suggests that at least one prominent Hillary backer was saying openly that the meeting had convinced him to get through his grief, denial etc to the final stage that would allow life to go on, and presumably the money to flow to the Obama camp.
