The mystery of Dean's spots...
A couple of days back Black_Vine asked us how they make Dean's spots. I (naturally) assumed they were real, but turns out this is not the case, so we asked Bella who does make-up on The Cut to explain...
"We redden the patches of Thomas' face where we plan to have the breakouts with different shades of red and purple special effects make-up. Then the scar tissue make-up goes on, we use this to build the spots and then we colour around them with greasepaint colours, this makes them look more realistic and painful. We also add a bit of fake pus to some of the spots to make them really gross!"So there you have it! Now we can all try it at home... err...
PS. Check out Slink's spots factfile for more info on what to do about real spots x

Vicki I can't believe you thought they were real. LOL - nature is not that cruel! That pus is vomit-inducing, nice effect though!
Thanks Inspector Vicki
