I think if we can save Â鶹Éç Switch, the 5:19 show definitely needs some upgrading, because at the moment I just find it really cheesy. Sorry, I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear, nor is it directly related to The Cut, I'm just trying to help.

I noticed Â鶹Éç switch syndicated Kyle XY, that was a great move but I think Â鶹Éç was sloppy in doing so. I recall it took ages for them to air the second season, and I'm doubtful that the third season will ever air (but hey, it got canceled anyway). Partly what I'm getting at is that the UK seems to take a while in getting US TV over water. Then again, I guess it's also expensive syndicate popular US TV.
ITV have the rights to some great programmes like Gossip Girl, Supernatural, Vampire Diaries and Glee. Shame Â鶹Éç didn't think to get any of these in the bag...
I'm certainly not going to suggest the Â鶹Éç try creating their own versions. Frankly UK programming is so cheap a lot of the time, I'm especially skeptical about the Â鶹Éç pulling off anything with a hyper-reality. As in, even Doctor Who, the most popular drama on the Â鶹Éç wreaks of cheapness a lot of the time.
Might be worth taking some of the budget used for Â鶹Éç switch and creating some decent original programming. Maybe somesort of gadget/gaming show that's in-touch with the gaming/gadget scene and not padded out with silly segments. And/or a decent drama, as long as it's not toned-down and budgeted.
