So, here we are. The day after the night before. Am I any less emotional now that The Cut has been launched for an entire day? Well, no. In fact, my right eye is crying a little bit (although this might be because I just poked it with a pen).
If you missed the first episode, here it is! Ahhh, Sigur Ros. Episode Two will air on Tuesday at 5:10pm... and here's some EXCLUSIVE news (a nugget, if you will): the next one will be Marla's episode!

PS. If you're a bit confused about why there isn't an episode today, I'll enlighten you with my infinite knowledgeosity (ahem). Basically:
1. We launched The Cut last night on Radio One, which was a Sunday.
2. So it made sense to play out the first episode then, even though The Cut will usually be on every weekday at 5:10pm and on Â鶹Éç Two every Saturday at 12pm... i.e. not on a Sunday.
3. In other words, we let you see Monday's episode early because we are nice like that.
I guess my point is: let's start getting excited for tomorrow's episode! EEK.
Right, okay, so here it is: the big low-down.
The Cut is launching in just under an hour and the very first episode will be available online on this 'ere site! To be precise, on this 'ere page. EEP.
Tune into Radio One now because very, very soon Lara and Matt (who play brother and sister, Marla and Stephen Mackinnon) will be launching the very first episode live on air.
If you are are thinking: "Well, of course I am excited about this, but basically I have no idea what the deuce The Cut is" then DO NOT FEAR. Because this page will tell you all you need to know. FACT.
So get the popcorn in the microwave, because The Cut is officially ABOUT TO HAPPEN!!
Yes, yes, that's right. Two more sleeps to go until THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE CUT (unless of course, you're partial to a mid-afternoon nap or three).
I have heard on the apple tree (grapevines are so overrated), that Stephen and Marla will be on Switch with Annie and Nick this Sunday, having a little chit chat and launching the first episode.
This is, bascially, pretty sweeting exciting.
So tune in, yo. Radio One, 7pm, Sunday.
A weird thing just happened.
Basically, they started filming episodes of The Cut today so there are loads of the cast (aka fitties) walking about the place.
They're starting to get to know me now (probably because I pop up like a Meer cat when they walk through the door and then proceed to grin wildly at them until they say hello), so when Billie (who plays Olive) didn't say hello, but rather, she mouthed it - I was a bit confused.
Maybe she knows something I don't? Like, maybe it's National Mouth-Your-Words day? Or maybe she's saving all her words for her performance?
I think she could tell I was confused, because she came over and squeaked at me. And then I got it. She has TURNED INTO A MOUSE.
Ummm...
Oh no, wait. She squeaked again and I really got it this time. She has LOST HER VOICE.
But what about filming?! Will she have to mouth her words and then record them separately when her voice comes back??! Or will they have to quickly write into the script that she's ill? I will endeavour to find out and let you know.
Poor Billie, get well soooon! And even though she doesn't have a voice, she can be rest assured that when the first episode of The Cut airs on Sunday it won't matter... because it'll be EVERYONE ELSE that'll be doing the talking. Seriously exciting times.

1. If you can't wait until Monday to see the first episode of The Cut, don't worry - cos you don't have to! The show is getting a special premiere on Switch with Annie and Nick this Sunday (the 13th), so make sure you tune into Radio 1 from 7pm. Popcorn required.
2. There's a Cut special on The 5:19 Show today! So make sure you're watching bbc.co.uk/switch at, err, 5:19pm.
3. Switch has had a makeover! Doesn't it look sexy?

What's a way to brighton up anyone's day? How about a trip to Brighton finding new locations for The Cut?
Not that I, err, went.
But Grant, the Assistant Director of The Cut, and the crew did.
They went there for a 'recee', which basically means checking out a location for filming before you start filming there. So, was everything ship shape?
Well, judging by the amount of heart shaped candy rock Grant just pulled out of his bag (that's the shape part covered), I'd say he's pretty sold on filming there. Plus apparently they saw some boats (so that's the ship bit done, too).
I've also just spotted an I <3 Brighton hoodie in his bag, which I'm 88.6% sure is for one of the character's... but which one?!!

Either that or her head IS a heart. I really should have paid closer attention when I took the photo.
So, it turns out that if you're making a soap, you need to be manymanymany episodes ahead with the writing. Not that I'm into plot spoliers (I am), but I asked Anna of script editing fame for some titbits on future episodes of The Cut.
Here is what she said: "Really loving the new scripts... everyone who wrote in about popular boys and shy girls is going to LOVE this. I can say no more..."
I have told her this quote might go down in history. After all, it is quite catchy.
Right, I just heard a minute ago that the cast are all rehearsing some scenes upstairs from me, so I grabbed Laura the director when she walked past me (not literally, in some places that'd be an arrestable offence) and I officially have my first bit of Cut gossip! Brace yourselves...
THEY WERE REHEARSING A SMOOCHY SCENE.
AND STEPHEN WAS INVOLVED.
BUT HIS GF OLIVE WASN'T.
WHAT?!?!?!!??!
Blog one. A pretty monumentous occasion, yes? But not as monumentous as the very fact that we are only a matter of days away from the launch of the actual first episode!
Excitement is mounting here at Cut HQ (not least because of the amount of ridiculously fit actors we get walking through; seriously, I need to learn to not act like a silly little girl every time one of them asks me for the flipping time... time is not measured in squeals).
Anyway... I'm meant to be telling you that this blog will be THE place to come for bits of news, exclusive photos, discussion and quite possibly the odd titbit of Cut Goss. Yep, I'm going to basically stalk The Cut for the upcoming few months so if you've got any burning questions about the cast, crew, or the production process, let me know.
If you want to know what Lara Goodison (who plays Marla) eats for lunch, the amount of curious pigeons we've shouted at, or even what colour Matt (Stephen) Kane's pants are, I can find out.
