Saturday Live

3rd March

  • Becky Vincent
  • 3 Mar 07, 07:26 AM

Today poet Murray Lachlan Young and special guest Louise Rennison were in studio to help make sense of all goings on.

We heard from a student who wished he'd known the sort of trouble he'd be in for carrying a plastic gun, a writer who creates poetry with people with dementia, and strong man Geoff Capes told us all about his collection of budgerigars. Sammy Gitau recounted his extraordinary journey from the slums of Nairobi to Manchester University, this week's podcast was from the Hertfordshire Chorus, and author Lynne Truss shared her inheritance tracks with us.

Listen again to this programme (3rd March 2007)

Did I imagine it or did you have a mock quiz featuring the opening bars of 4 famous classical pieces? If I didnt, I thought Fi Glover said the answers would be on the website (the first was identified as Carmina Burana) but I cant find it anywhere. Am I looking in the right place? Could you let me know what they were - particularly the 3rd piece which was really thrilling
    Thanks

You can find Murray's poem if you look him up under 'Meet the poet' (top right under CATEGORIES) and click on comments - he was furiously typing them up when I left on Saturday... many thanks to Murray for that. Also Teresa if you click on the link to Hertfordshire chorus in the blog for 3rd March (above!) you'll find the answers to the podcast quiz. We are working on making this site easier to navigate - thanks for bearing with us!
    See you next Saturday
    Maria
