Interesting article in the latest edition of New Scientist:
It seems that the increasingly popular video-sharing site contains an increasing number of genuinely informative - as well as some humorous - home-made movies that are disability and health-related. For instance, there's a series of instructive video tutorials by Phil Commander (great name, that) which give out useful advice to parents of children on the autistic spectrum. And if you've got diabetes, why not tune in to another series of videos from the glamorous location of Builth in Wales, in which nurses demonstrate how to sample blood sugar levels and use an inhaler?

The potential of the YouTube concept is staggering.
Hi, I think YouTube is great. As a paraplegic I have shared some para-paragliding experiences and triking fun.. I do find the hundreds of able bodied people doing wheelies in chairs a bit tiresome though..My name on YouTube is basketcase3 .. :)
A new video sharing service which is technologically going far beyond YouTube, has been launched last week. It is named MYUBO. It also supports mobile phones (upload & watch) and supports all data networks even GPRS, EDGE, or CDMA and 3G/UMTS as well.
It is in beta phase, but it ccaptured great interest.
i think many video sharing sites such as YouTube make people get famous without taking risk, for example if i became famous (my channel youtube.com/mynetworks) i didnt had to worry that much about the pressures a celebrity would receive (media exposure, rumors, etc) so in YouTube it enables me to become famous in the way i want to (no paparazzis in front of my house!)
I think Youtube is good, but some of the comments i've seen on some video's are abusive and degrading.
I think youtube is a slowly losing its self and losing out to big companies and the original content users are finding it hard to compete with companies like Â鶹Éç etc big industry companies get enough media coverage. On the other hand they do have the right to upload videos to try and protect their own products from being uploaded by other users.
