What a great laugh I got after a long tiring week listening to the group of supercilious cultural snobs on the assembled panel were tonight- they certainly lived up to the sterotype of the hard to please New York critics but I wouldn't take any notice of their waffle.Enjoyed seeing Kirsty's bemused look though!

I liked the earlier time for this Newsnight Review.

Was I being blind, or is studio 60 not actually included in the episode online this week?

Dan

Yes, sorry I meant to put a note on the site somewhere. We had to take the Studio 60 discussion as it was full of clips which we do not have internet rights for.

Apologies.

Ian

That's a shame Ian.. I missed the show on Friday and was looking forward to see it!

Never mind, thanks for taking the time to reply :)

I had to smile at the thought of the bellicose Mr.Ramsey in New York. The only time I eat at one of his restaurants there was no sign of a salt pot on the table as Mr.Ramsey believes that he is the ultimate arbiter of seasoning and likes to dictate his patrons'palates .I wonder how that will go down in the land of the free.

Rather a poor panel for this review. Were these really the cream of New York intellectuals or just the best that Newsnight could manage?
I had been hoping for a real heavyweight like Edmund White.

I feel like a complete blank, but I don't care. Pfft. I've pretty much been doing nothing worth mentioning.

I hate to say it,Jane, but I think you may have confused Gordon Ramsey with Marco Pierre White, the prima donna chef of SW9.Not that the yanks will probably notice the difference-it seems to me that they are equally capable of creating a scene at the drop of a hat.
Just a thought.

Not much on my mind. I don't care. I've just been letting everything happen without me , but shrug. Whatever. I feel like a void.
