When I looked at the , I was shocked, stunned and horrified by many of the images of violence that resulted in referee Raymond Crangle deciding to abandon the game.

Unfortunately, the people who should have been looking at the photographs weren't able to. The disciplinary committee did not agree to the admission of photographic evidence as they reached their decisions on the sanctions to take against certain individuals involved.

You couldn't make it up. It's 2010 and photographs aren't used in making a decision of this magnitude.

For the Northern Ireland players drinking in the last chance saloon of major tournament qualification, the barman in Warsaw could've been a little kinder.

has an age-old problem to solve if Northern Ireland are to negotiate their way through and reach the promised land of the finals of the .

It's been talked about at great length for years and their are small signs that Nigel and his players are finding a solution, but if Northern Ireland don't find a way of winning away from home against decent opposition, then it doesn't matter which of the nine groups they had been drawn in. They won't qualify.
