Gordon Brown in Wales: the alternative view
The view from Gordon Brown's question and answer session at the SWALEC stadium today.
Mr Brown told Red Dragon FM listeners that the election was "wide open". He again conceded he may lose on presentational skills and ruled out joining the X-Factor auditions taking place in Cardiff today.
Later, he met the Welsh media in Cardiff Bay, where he was questioned about the surge in Nick Clegg's support since last week's prime ministerial debate.
"I had a political honeymoon, though it is sometimes easy to forget," he reminded us.
Later, he dropped in at a Labour activist's house in marginal Cardiff North. (New Labour, Old St Mellons).
Local Tories got wind of the event - more rally than garden party - and turned up bearing placards to shout slogans.
On a day that David Cameron was splattered by an egg thrown by a protester, the Tories in Old St Mellons chanted "too polite for eggs" as the Prime Minister left for his hotel and some intensive preparation ahead of tomorrow's TV debate.
