Tonight on the show - it's the Bye Bye Drive Time: Hello Breakfast Party ticket give away, although original and loyal bloggers, "in my humble opinion" (someone's gotta make the decision) will be my personal guests.

Seeing as you said it yourself - I hope no-one minds if I drag this over from yesterday's blog.
    Morning Bloggers,

Ooooh hurrah!! I do hope I qualify as a Loyal Silly Blogger and didn't hallucinate your invite in Dublin as I attempted to throttle the life outa yous, Christoff, I do apologise. I'll leave the hanger in me coat at the party so I don't give in to the urge to do it again.

Rips my little Laureate that was brill!! Damn right I'll 'ave the rollin' pin. In fact I'll bring the brush-steel instead then we can play the Hold The Brush Steel In Both Hands Then Pass It Over Your Head And Round Your Body Without Lettin' Go game. And me drinkin' straws an' Jelly Babies, an' some newspaper kippers for Flap The Kipper game, howsabout that.

Anyway sunshine, hope you're feeling better. I'd stop in today, my dear. I've just ventured out to the bin and it's colder than a penguin's chuff. Have just welted a polar-bear scavengin' therein with Renee's galvanised bucket an' re-entered the kitchen stratosphere with frostbite an' eyeballs like 2 scoops a raspberry ripple.

    Jayzus. Where's me Liberty Bodice.

    Hi Chris,

Yes, it's rather chilly in Glasgow too! Would love to be at the Drivetime bash, but just impossible to even think about coming to London on the 23rd. All the best to everyone who gets a ticket - I am very envious! Chris, I agree with Beez: please come along to one of the blog meets and get lots of cuddles!

Rips: what a fantastic start to my day - that was terrific!

Baggy: I was talking to my sister last night and she told me that her doctor has now prescribed a different inhaler for the winter months - she must use it before she goes out, even if it's just to put something in the bin! She says it has transformed her life - might be worth looking into?

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

    C xx

  • Comment number 10.

Chrissie -thanks for the info - I was thinking about treatine myself to a new inhaler anyway as you can never have too many spares - and I think as I only use mine this time of year some might be out of date by now?

  • Comment number 11.

I'm here, I'm here, loyal as you like.

Great poem Rips, hope you are feeling better.

We had a very heavy frost here on the West Somerset coast. it has now disappeared and is very calm for a change.

Jst off out to top the bird feeders, got to look after our little feathered friends now.

    Bad news of the day.....

Finished the book last night :(

    Good news of the day....

Going to start reading it all over again :)

    Morning all

You're right, it's damn nippy out there! -3 according to my car at one point!

I couldn't scrape mine - the ice was too thick, I used lukewarm water, with engine running and wipers going to stop it freezing over again...worked a treat!

Baggy, you take care now, don't want you poorly for your birthday and Christmas!

Rips, that is brilliant!! Well done you!!

I'm not feeling shivery today, I think it was just that our office never has any heating on on a Monday, so spent all day shivering and never truly got warm at all - it's better today - and by Friday it'll be like an oven....

Anyway, best get on with some work!

    Morning Chris and Bloggers,

Yes, it is mighty cold today - the 1st December and the first frost. I lay in bed hearing my neighbours scrapping the ice and thought I best get up a bit earlier so I can do the same. This is the first car I've had that gives the temperature, so I might bore you with that fact every morning!! This morning it was 1.5!

Rips, Great poem and I hope you are starting to feel better xxx

Andy, Sorry about the fire and theft, but congrats on the impending arrival of the little one xxx Let's hope things start to turn around for you all now xx

    Good morning Bloggers!

It's has been FREEZING here in Edinburgh the last few days! Am very glad I've got my funky pink woolly hat to keep my ears warm. Not been outside just yet but I bet there's alayer of ice on the windscreen, although I have had to get the de-icer out already this winter.

Would love to come to the Bye Bye drivetime bash but there's no way I'd get down and back from up here that close to Christmas. I bet everyone that is lucky enough to get tickets has an absoultely awesome time.

Hope everyone who's been poorly is feeling better today.

Right I better get a move on, am going to brave the Glasgow shops today and get some C**s shopping done! (So when are we allowed to use the C word? It is December now after all!?!)

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all

Ever since our incidents, I have been overwhelmed by the kind thoughts and offers of help from those that know me, even if only through the blog or FB.

Fell a bit better this morning as the cleaning people are coming in to start on the house and it will start to look more normal once that's done.

    Thank you to all.

Lovely drive to work this morning, brilliant sunshine, frosty covered fields and some diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirty rock music courtesy of The White Stripes in the car.

Now listening to last year's Bloggers CD to give me some inspiration as my thoughts turn to Divalicious 2 - 2009.

Feeling fun and lively today (you have been warned!), and await further instruction from Big Chief Lambie Pie as to the Drivetime bishbash.

Do I need to choose a party frock? A gal needs to know ;-)

    Morning each and every,

Advent calendar, an elephant carrying presents is my guess as you have probably bought another weird and wonderful one like last year Deev.

Rips, truly madly deeply insane pome, and I liked it. I reckon you're in!

Now, how can I persuade the lovely, magnificent, wonderful Chris that I should be awarded the honour of being a guest? Been here since about day 11 although with work committments and other rot not able to post as regular as I would like, Chris actually gave me my name on his saturday show - all those years ago!, my engagement was announced on the blog before it even happened, I have opened my heart during one of the worst times of my life and took advice from all that offered it, includng the great man hisself and came out the other side a better, happier version of me. Tell you what, I don't expect, nor need a special guest ticket as I've been a special guest all along and thank you all for each moment of it.

Aww, jees (Other cleaning fluids are available), I've come over all soppy now. snap out of it girl!

  • Comment number 28.

Baggy: yes, I do believe the inhalers "go off". You'll probably be amazed at how well a new one will work - go for it!

Andy: glad to hear you are feeling better today. It is wonderful to get support from people, isn't it - even just "virtual" friends. Once the house gets cleaned and re-painted, it will feel like home again.

    There you go!

    MW, a!

  • Comment number 37.

    Ah, now there's a thing .....

Calendar man on last night's show. Informative and a good interview but over-use of the word "obviously", I feel.

When he said "obviously the biggest selling calendar ever was Kylie's 2003 lingerie calendar" to me, that wasn't obvious. In my world, the obvious choice for biggest selling calendar EVER would have to be the 1983 Duran Duran Official Calendar, especially June and John Taylor looked mighty fine, if I recall .....

I used to work with a girl and she over-used "obviously" to excess. Lost count of the number of times we all had to point out that it wasn't "obvious" to the caller she was answering that the boss was out, or that so-and-so was at lunch.

Think I'll start a campaign to remove the word "obviously" from the English language altogether.

It's bound to be a success. Obviously.

    Who knows?!?

Baggy - last year's calendar was a hoot, weren't it! Some of the guesses by the end of the 3rd week were sublime and obviously quite literally ridiculous! Blimmin' good fun tho.

Baggy, yes with the meds going out of date. Best get them checked. Are you able to have bowl of water on radiator or even just on your desk at work? Might help combat the dryness. Hope you feeling better soon. (((xxx)))

As Deevs said though, we did get our CIN outing so, whilst I would so love to come on the 23rd and would be sad not to go, I'll grin, bear it and come back listening in January!! (But still have baby sitter on stand by just in case!)

Now that might be it from me for today as border guards bit hot while I'm at work and boy2 has friend round after school so my chances of getting near the lap top are about zilch. this evening I'm going out for a Christmas Dinner!! Yes it is way to early but this meeting is always the 1st tuesday in the month, December meeting is Christmas dinner so..........Crakers it is!!

Have a fab day, Loving ALL your work

I have a calendar in my kitchen which is 2003, a lovely National Trust one of gardens, most of which I have visited over the years.

    Bloggers advice time...

Right here's the situation, my garden is full of birds at the moment all looking for a morsel or two.

There is my loyal Blackie, Robin and the hopalong broken winged pigeon.

Along with an array of tits of all shapes and sizes ( stop it right now, s'clean! ) also, woodpeckers,a common thrush, mistle thrush, the scatty pheasant that turfs the compost heap upside down everyday, the list is practically endless.

THEN, there are the ROOKS !!

They will empty a bird feeder in a minute, one of them tips it upside down and the others gather underneath with their beaks open and devour the lot!

I have tried tying the feeeders in many different locations and have had no luck in deterring the blighters !

This also makes me feel guilty, cos they also have to eat, but, what would last the little birdies a week, as I say, has gone in a flash.

    V. stylish, actually. Leopard-print ones, neon ones, flowery ones, marvellous. And distract attention from the bruisin' from walkin' into lamp-posts.

Right. MUST GO. Otherwise will be late back for the State Visit of the GD and that won't do. Haven't seen each other for 4 weeks so we'll be jumpin' into each other's arms an' kissin' an' huggin.

Then within 5 minutes, punchin' each other's lights out.

    Happy days.

Anyone here passing my desk or using my phone will wonder what on earth I'm up to (nothing new there ....)

I've got a page torn from a short-hand notebook with bloggers names and things like holly, bell, snowman written next to each name.

    Lovin' the Christmas vibe gang!

    MTF,

In my capacity as resident aminally person of the blog I have a suggestion for you, but you probably already do it.

Give the rooks a table or ground feeder. They will enjoy scraps such as bread, meat - particularly bacon bits, veg and virtually any other stuff (including mince pies) considered too big for the little burdies. They will access it more easily, therefore making the energy expended versus energy consumed ratio much more in their favour. Also, look at feeding niger seed as this is too small for the bigger boys and gold finches love it.

You can use baffles too, helps prevent skwirrels and big beggar birds from getting the grub.

hope this helps, if not I have a crossbow.

And Rips, aww bless you. That is indeed a very kind thought, and I've not got you anything

    yet!

    MW, a!

  • Comment number 73.

I'd love to mince with you MTF. If there's clotted cream involved, I'll mince with any one! At least they must sell in in sensible sized pots in your local shops. Up here Darn Essex, can only get it in titchy tiny pots just big enough for one scone or mince pie or........

Have just turned over my little desk calendar (thanks MWa)and thought I would share this little thought with you all, possible it will be very useful during the festive season.

Alcohol doesn't cause hangovers. Waking up does!!

    Obviously!!

    Hi Seza,

Seeing that blog from you made me quite glad we didn't have our mini blog meet yesterday. The traffic around the Dartford Crossing was a nightmare (according to Sally Traffic) and that's the way I would have come - so the postponing was meant to be! Looking forward to meeting up next year though.

If we are literally going to banish Obviously from the English Language, can I propose a replacement. Fab word. Best word I've heard for ages (other than fleckles).

is it wrong that i want to stick my smallest boy to the wall with duck tape..
he keeps pushing the big blue button on my computer and turning it all off. takes ages to re start and log on again.

  • Comment number 79.

Well the blog is ripping along at a fair old pace today isn't it. Is it because it's icy and people are thinking about that thing in a few weeks time or is it to do with the 23rd...
Well I am not an original or particularly loyal and have only been writing my brand of drivel for a few short months, so if selected, Chris, I shall run down the high street of Cannock in my cowboy boots with nothing but 2 sprigs of holly in my hair for decoration shouting yeehah.

It sounded awful didn't it. Wasn't it something to do with another tunnel being closed? We'll meet up in New year no worries

Oh, & can I claim a special mummy bonus point for not only remembering to get the advent calendars from the loft, not only remembering to buy choc to go in them but also remembering where I put all the above & filling and hanging them last night!

    Hi there - I'm BACK!!!

Chris, what a lovely gesture to reward the loyal, original and regular contributors........ good luck guys - hope your names all come up!

Deevs - my guess is a pink Angel...... hope no-one else has that...

Right, apologies for absynth (sp?) - been a poorly Daisy, but back on fighting form now. Just so crazy busy at this work malarky, have lurked a little and got the gist of what is going on but won't comment separately on everything.

Those of you going through a rough patch - today is the first day of Advent where Hope springs eternal - hope things'll get better soon.

To all you other mad beings - It's only 24 days 'til Christmas - yayhay!

Some thought provoking stuff for you to look at:

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

    1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

    2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

    3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

    4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

    5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

    6. You mean the world to someone.

    7. You are special and unique.

    8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

    9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

    10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.

    11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

Love 'n' stuff to you all,
    Daisy xxxx

Thanks MW, as one of them has now flown off with a dinnerplate sized solid feed ring, thats a yes to the crossbow!

Spose we are lucky not have squirrels very often, but if I put anything on the ground, we get the thin tailed version, namely Roland!

The goldfinches love the niger and the black sunflower seeds too, and was lucky to get Bill Oddies version at the 99p shop, another bargain.

So, now all my little birdies are sitting staring a tme to go and refill their feeders, something I only did an hour or so ago.

This'll never get the hoovering done, oh well !
