After much reading and talk the first Digital Media Initiative documents are ready for the public.

Each document is licensed under a . This gives you the right to modify, edit and build upon what's already there. We suspect one of the first uses will be to convert the documents into a set of wiki pages so people can collaborate on sections together.

  • We choose to use Slideshare for hosting these files because it can index and cc licence files. They make the original file available for download but also create a nice flash slideshow which you could use to host the file on your own blog, facebook, etc.

Just remember to add attribution in the form of text and if you can a link to the original or at least this blog entry. Please be respectful of the enormous amount of work people have had to do in the documents and to make it available for the public. We strive for perfection but becareful as there might be a mistake or two from the post editing.

If your not sure what the DMI project is or find the document very confusing its worth checking out we did a while ago about the DMI project and its aims and objectives.
