Title: [untitled]

by Madeleine from Leicestershire | in writing, fiction

A darkened stage with a black pyramid consisting of three levels is placed in the centre of the stage with a girl sitting on the top with her head in her hands. The girl sits up and slowly walks down the pyramid and stands in the centre of the stage with her head held low, she looks up at the audience.

Girl: I am another girl, another birth, another death, another tear, another object to be categorised.

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'Categories' written on it and hangs it on the lower level of the pyramid.

Girl: I have my hopes and aspirations, just like everyone else, but what makes me different?

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'Unique' written on it and hangs it on the lower level of the pyramid.

Girl: What can I do to be remembered, why should i be remembered?

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'Forgotten' written on it and hangs it on the lower level of the pyramid.

Girl: I could be a writer, or a painter, or an actor.

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'choices' written on it and hangs it on the second level of the pyramid.

Girl: But eventually they're all forgotten, what they gave to society is remembered, not them.

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'immortality' written on it and hangs it on the second level of the pyramid.

Girl: No matter how much we achieve, our souls will be lost.

She walks to the side of the stage and takes a board with 'oblivion' written on it and hangs it on the top layer of the pyramid..

Girl: and I will only be remembered for as long as you live.

She walks to the top of the pyramid turns to face the audience and waves, then turns around, places a noose over her neck and jumps off the other side of the pyramid.

My inspiration was looking around at the people in my school and realising that all of them are trying to make themselves better and look ""cool"" in front of their mates. Then I realised that really they wanted to be noticed, because nobody wants to be forgotton.
