Title: Whaggs Lane.

by Beth from Northumberland | in writing, poetry

I've walked this street about a million times
Paced these pavements, with their cracks and their lines
I have danced on here, and took a chance on here
And been scared out of my skin and trembling with fear.
I've skipped down here in the pouring rain
And I've tripped and I've hobbled in incredible pain
I've picked my way through the snow on a December night
And I've lain on the bus stop on bonfire night.
I've kissed on the corner, right under the stars
And I've been screamed at so frequent by idiots in cars.
I've been followed by weirdo's who live down my street
And swooned in the shadows in sweltering heat.
I've been walking this street since I was small
And I'm still walking it, and I'm still pretty small.

Nothing ever changes.

there's a street near where I live, with so many stories. it leads to the park, to the main street, to the houses of some of my friends. i felt like i spent most of last year on it!
