Title: Awaiting death

by Holly from Nottinghamshire | in writing, poetry

We are all born and we all die;
These two facts you can't fight.
Life is the journey; death the destination;
Doesn't matter about your income or occupation;
Were all heading there one time or other;
No one can stop it, not even your mother.
I don't want to sound full of doom;
Just these facts are all about gloom.
But then if you stop to think;
All of us are on deaths brink.
So whilst we are alive;
And before death arrives;
We need to live full lives.

I wrote this after being asked to think of the meaning of life; (I know al lot of my poems seem a bit depressing but never mind)
