Title: Insignificant infinity

by Michaela from Cornwall | in writing, fiction

Motionless she stood, stunned into position as if time had stopped and all material things had vanished in her being. No longer grounded, but floating through the paradox of her mind. The towering figures loomed over, quaking and shaking in a threatening manor. She gathered the sense of their ancient power, far deeper and more mysterious than her naive inquisitiveness.
"Hard to incur" she whispered softly, "that something formed from one huge accident or coincidence came to be held to such high esteem within the laws of nature. Whatever that is?". There was a long arduous silence as she continued to float through the land of unknown time.
"Does its great power to make and destroy mean that thing holds far more importance than my ability to think and to question it?".
The dark unknown became ever engulfing upon her foolish imposition as it's once meagre actions were now thrashing through time with anger to match satan's vengeance.
"What is its meaning compared with mine?" the desperation in her voice was apparent. The long black echoing cave became ever dry and haunting. With a long drawn out groan she whimpered "Who am I?".
Before another word could be uttered, within the split second of her mystifying circumstances her curiosity could delve no further into the innocent inner child she beheld. Like a person trapped within a raging fire far more greater than that of Dante, her senses were shocked into a state of electrical heightenedess and the juxtaposition of the unrealistic reality forced itself upon her.
The rain fell in a rhythmic pattern, cold and hard, pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter....

This peice of writing was drawn from my wild imagination and curiosity. It was writen at a time when I felt great loss and loneliness.
