Title: Outsider

by Jaz from Hampshire and Isle of Wight | in writing, poetry

She saw the look in the other girls eyes,
a look of sadness,
happiness deprived

The look of hurt at the
snide remarks,
her skin as deep
as a tree its bark

Her fists clenched
beneath the seat,
the way she felt,
she could not cheat.

Blood wells up,
so red, so dark
her suffering mind
leaves its mark.

She'll leave the feeling
of being an outsider,
but will always have her scars to remind her.

When I was 12 I was diagnosed with severe depression and put on medication. I wrote a lot in the year or so I was ill this poem being one of them. Writing helped me a lot, and now I am getting better, I want other people to know what I went through. The girl in this poem is me, although that much I supopose is obvious.
