Title: Phone conversation from the edge

by Sophie from Dorset | in writing, poetry

Your lies are weak
Falling apart when I see the truth
Your lips move
But I know that you lie
Hidden in the shadows
Like your other half
You hide from the world
And me
I'm left holding myself at night
Wondering if you'll ever come back
But I know you will
When you tire of the first
I'm but the second
A chain of events that lead to the end
Not a fairytale ending
But one of a nightmare
I fall asleep in my own arms
And I laugh a bitter laugh
When I think that what you say could be true
