Title: Life between the lines of fear and reality

by Demi from Northamptonshire | in writing, poetry

A picture of a thousand words,
With only one meaning;
Creating an ambience of a sound unheard,
Fear prevents me from speaking.

A contention between dreams and reality,
I can't even see what's real,
If I spoke, I'd create a calamity,
These wounds will never heal.

You removed the only one I ever trusted,
Caused her pain too,
In treacherous ways, faith now rusted,
Yet you killed her anyway- in spite of you.

If you saw the sorrow in her eyes,
If you felt how she felt inside,
Then I'm sure you'd think twice,
I'm sick of it myself, at my demise.

It killed me to see her that way,
After I'd spent so many years seeing a smile,
Is this the price I have to pay?
For confusing what was real, it isn't worth while.

I could see she was cut up,
I could see she was in pain;
I always promised I'd never pick up,
Anyone who hurt her for personal gain.

I'd kick them down,
I'd watch them die,
For causing the one I cared for pain renowned,
Watch the blood protrude, watch them cry.

Will the fire burn out before you can breathe?
Will the fire subside?
For I am sure you knew how to breathe,
A breath I tried to hide.

it.
