Title: a lonely girl

by Sophie from Essex | in writing, poetry, dark

a lonely girl, one broken chair
head in her hands, drenched with despair
sobbing fast, a puddle forms
a dark pool of salty desperation
they want to tell her it’s okay
but she knows it’s just a lie
youth doesn’t enter this
she’s seen the hollowness of life
the tears aren't the beginning
and the screamings not the end
she knows the truth
it’s not okay
it’s too late to pretend
so no one stops her crying
truth is no one cares
someone says it’s alright
but, in reality no one’s there
it’s all in her head
this, mediocre love
it’s make believe she’s so alone
the sadness of it all
is this is all she’ll ever know
so they tell her it’s okay
and she’s happy to pretend
but for now she lets the façade come to an end
