Title: Ed Sheeran - Portrait09

I feel that Ed Sheeran is a very natural musician. He writes his own songs, he sings, he plays his guitar and there is nothing fake about him. So when it came to deciding what design I should use for his cover I felt it was important to make it as natural as possible. So I chose a picture of him with his guitar, which I edited to make it have an indie-style to match with his clean lines and shapes. I kept it looking modern and simple. I used three different layers on photo-shop to make my album cover. The background layer was a picture of Ed that I cut out and edited to make it bright and interesting changing the contrast to bleach out his face making him appear over exposed. The first layer was a picture of a paper sculpture that I made in class. I chose it as I felt it had circular flowing shapes that were similar to his music. The second (and final) layer was the text that said Ed Sheeran in a font that resembled handwriting. I hope this illustrates Ed’s down to earth, guy next-door image. I feel it’s very understated and genuine, like him. All in all, I am very pleased with my design and I feel it would be a great album cover for Ed.
