Rizzle Kicks appealed to me because I like their style: the way they dress, how they act and the way they talk. I think the idea of writing music about the simple things in life is really good and original, plus their songs sound great too. I designed my album cover around how the band came across to me – urban as well as a bit vintage – and I searched for images related to and based on that. The street scene in my design gets an idea across, I think, of everyday teenage life, which also reflects what Rizzle Kicks write about in their music; and I didn’t know at the time I was designing the album cover, but Rizzle said that their look has ‘street edge’. I kept the colours simple and roughly the same as the ones on Rizzle and Sylvester’s clothes – greys and pale colours. Another thing I put in before I knew that Rizzle had also said ‘I love using Polaroid images’, are the Polaroids. They relate to the vintage style that jumped out at me when I picked Rizzle Kicks, and they work well with the finished design of street and urban themes.
